GEUZA WAZO
Geuza Wazo is a non-profit foundation based in Nairobi advocating for the rights, dignity, and inclusion of individuals living with developmental disabilities in Kenya. “Geuza Wazo” means “change thinking” in Swahili , reflecting its mission to transform mindsets, reduce stigma, and provide accurate, accessible information and support for families, caregivers, educators, and communities.
The challenge
Geuza Wazo lacked a digital website, which limited their ability to engage families, caregivers, donors, and partners. Without a central online hub, it was difficult to communicate their identity, create awareness around developmental disabilities, and showcase their programs in a way that invited people to get involved and support their work.
The solution
I built Geuza Wazo’s website using WordPress, creating a professional and accessible digital home that reflects the organization’s mission and values. The design brought together structured program pages that highlight initiatives and impact areas, resource sections that provide clear and relatable information on developmental disabilities, and storytelling features that amplify the voices of families and individuals. The site was also designed with mobile responsiveness and search optimization in mind, ensuring that it reaches audiences wherever they are. Beyond functionality, the website was structured to provide clear pathways for engagement, making it easier for volunteers, partners, and donors to connect with the organization and support its work.The application store and react-native hooks were incorporated from the website application thus giving a user a seamless flow as they switched platforms

The result
The website gave Geuza Wazo a strong and credible digital foundation for the very first time. It now acts as a central hub where families, caregivers, partners, and supporters can connect with the organization, learn more about developmental disabilities, and engage with its programs. The new platform strengthens awareness, builds trust, and creates new opportunities for long-term growth, collaboration, and community impact.
